So last week there was a workout at my CrossFit gym that involved burpee box jumps. As you can see in the pictures below, I missed one of my jumps and it left a bit of a mark… 😆 😆
Well, this week there was a workout that involved FIFTY burpee box jumps! 🙀
As you can imagine, I saw the workout posted ahead of time and immediately thought about skipping it. 🙄
However, I eventually decided to go with the intention on scaling the workout to burpee box STEP UPS instead of box jump (y’know, to guarantee zero shin explosions 😉).
But then shortly before the workout I heard a little voice inside of me say…
“FACE YOUR FEAR”
It was definitely NOT what I wanted to hear!
But after a good deal of internal hemming and hawing, I decided to answered the call.
I embraced the challenge, stared fear in the face, and managed to avoid another shin-disaster by pacing myself and keeping my jumping focus for all 50 jumps (shoutout to Coach Teresa for continuously yelling, “Eyes on your target when you jump!”).
And of course after the workout not only did my BODY feel as strong as can be, but my MIND and my HEART as well! 💪 💪 💪
What fear are you being called to face? Something at the gym? At work? At home? In your personal life?
Whatever it is, face your fear and start attacking it head on. In time, you WILL conquer it! 👍 🏆
