Verse of the Week #28

We’re all hungry. We all consume. And try as we might, we’ll never be able to satisfy the deepest longings of our heart with the things of this world…

The new car. The big paycheck. The perfect body. The attention and recognition of others…

You name it – It’ll make you “happy” for a time, but it definitely won’t satisfy forever.

As The Rolling Stones famously sang, no matter how hard I try (“and I try, and I try, and I try…”), you’ll still “get no satisfaction”.

Even Tom Brady, after contemplating it all (millions in cash, numerous cars and homes, a supermodel wife, and pretty much universal recognition for being the greatest quarterback of all time 🐐) stated (in a now-famous 60 Minutes interview), “There’s GOTTA be more than this…”.

And from a Christian perspective, he’s absolutely right!

Because at the end of the day the hole in our hearts can’t be truly satisfied but by it’s Creator: The hole in our hearts is a God-shaped one. ❤️

I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger.

John 6:35a
