26 years ago I discovered St. Martin of Tours and chose him to be my Confirmation saint…
I wasn’t particularly into my faith at the time (I was in 8th grade), so my motivation for choosing Martin was a little shallow (I saw a picture of him in a book dressed as a soldier and holding a sword which I thought was really cool 🙃).
In any case, the good Lord knew what he was doing as St. Martin has been by my side ever since my Confirmation day those many years ago.
May Martin’s faith, courage, and love be an inspiration to all of us seeking to follow Christ in the world today!
