And that’s a wrap!

Woohoo! The 2023 CrossFit Open is officially a wrap!

While the last workout (details below) certainly shined a light on a weakness of mine (darn you, snatches!), I’m proud of myself for stepping into the ring and taking on the Open this year.

It’s always great to to be pushed (and encouraged!) by the crew at Tangletown CrossFit… I’m so blessed to be a part of that community. 🙏

And I’m also blessed to be a part of another community: My family!

Kate and the kids made an early morning visit to the gym for the workout and cheered me on. It was fun to have them there. 😃 

And while I don’t think I inspired them all that much, the rest of the Tangletown Team sure did! 💪💪

So Open 2023, thanks for the chance to learn, to grow, and enjoy the gift of fitness. You can bet that I’ll be back again next year! 😉

WORKOUT 23.3 (scaled):

Starting with a 6-minute time cap, complete as many reps as possible of:

5 scaled wall walks
50 single-under jump ropes
15 snatches (65#)
5 scaled wall walks
50 single-under jump ropes
12 snatches (95#)


*If completed before the 6-minute time cap, add 3 minutes to the time cap and complete:

20 hand-release push-ups
50 single-under jump ropes
9 snatches (115#)

*If completed before the 9-minute time cap, add 3 minutes to the time cap and complete:

20 hand-release push-ups
50 single-under jump ropes
6 snatches (135#)

Unfortunately, I was only able to get to the 95# snatches, where I tried again and again to hit them but just couldn’t quite manage the weight. 🙄

But hey, that’s okay. Now’s the time to start attacking this weakness – in preparation for next year! 🤠
